2nd the Motion: Jon Rogers
Agenda Items:
- Staffing for 2026-2027 School Year:
- Reduction in staffing by 50% for IA’s
- 2 para educators TK
- 1 general education instructional assistant each 1st and 2nd grade
- Recess supervision will have to shift with this new model
- Attendance Clerk: Attendance is increasing each year; Ms. Kelly in office is working hard to contact and connect with families to help increase attendance. We would like to continue paying the extra hours for her to continue doing this.
- Request: Title Funding: IA for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade will work with small groups to address reading, writing, and math
- Request: LCFF funding to pay for additional rec aide for supervision for next year.
- Safety Plan:
- Todd Sanderson, Safety Coordinator attended the meeting tonight
- Before school enrichment has continued this year using ELP funds for staffing. Students arrive 8-8:30 for enrichment, which relieves some of the traffic and congestion in the morning. Adults at morning walk are now required to sign in before entering campus. Hallways have also been locked before school to increase safety. After school pickup is more congested, and multiple pick-up spots have been used to alleviate traffic.
- We have increased our school counselor hours from half day to full day this year, which has increased the number of students who are able to receive services on campus.
- Safety drills monthly (fire/earthquake/lockdown)
- Individual safety plans are set up for students with disabilities; there are 4 off-site locations for safety. We use Catapult to communicate with staff during emergency situations.
- Change in Allowance to Cell Phone Policy: All electronic devices, including cell phones, must be kept off and in backpacks for all parts of the school day.
- There will be a new checklist developed by the safety coordinator for students that elope from campus. It is meant for any student that elopes, and will be added to the safety plan.
- PTA will purchase an additional camera for the upper grade bathroom area of the school.
Motion to approve safety plan: Mandy Matthews
